Mariposa is an extremely sound and sea-worthy vessel which has been involved in global cruising since her launch. All vessel systems are well maintained and more than adequate for cruising. The roomy interior and extremely high quality of workmanship make her very comfortable for extensive entertaining and living onboard. The large amount of storage and self-sufficiency allows months between victualling ports. She is sea kindly and ideal for cruising.



4 x S/S water tanks (total capacity 1250 litres plus Jerry cans)

3 blade bronze 'Michigan prop' on 1¼” S/S prop shaft.

Easy access large engine room. Multiple Racor fuel filters.

Many spares, inc. full overhaul kits, spare injectors, heat exchangers, u-joints, filters, alternators, belts, lift pump, starter motor, raw water pump & drive unit etc.



All rigging in good condition. Re-rigged 2003 (some new).  All new rigging 1997. Solid bobstay - fitted new 2003.

Profurl furler. Aluminium mast steps on both masts. Mast pulpit with teak rope belaying pins. Mizzenmast positioned just aft of cockpit. S/S stanchions. Teak boom cradle.

Harken & Barient self-tailing winches.

Lots of rigging spares inc. fittings, winches, S/S wire, pulleys, turnbuckles/bottlescrews & spare bob stay.



Very good condition in general.  High quality anti-fouled 11/03.  No evidence of osmosis.

Hull moulded keel with internal ballast.  Stem & Stern fibreglass reinforced after purchase, prior to initial launch.  Bronze skin fittings.


Single piece (inclusive of cockpit, hatches etc.) reinforced fibreglass deck.

Good condition GRP throughout with teak overlay (laid 2003) of deck and cockpit. Teak rubbing strips, boot topping, dorade boxes and handrails.

Hull Painted 11/03. Bronze structural fittings. Through hull S/S chainplates. S/S stanchions, pushpit & pulpit.



All in good condition

Mainsail 42 sq.m. full length battens, 2 reefs, 9oz. dacron (new 2003).

Furling Genoa with UV cover, 53sqm, 125%, 9oz. dacron (new 2003).

Mizzen Sail, Storm Jib, Drifter, Staysail, Reacher, M.P.S., Cruising Spinnaker, and Spare Main.

Sail covers, hatch covers and full dodger with zippable front screens (new 2003).

Large chart desk in navigation area. Large variety of paper charts, almanacs and pilots (can provide worldwide electronic charts).

ICOM VHF with remote unit for cockpit. Kenwood Ham Radio.

CPT II Autohelm, plus spare unit and parts.

Electrical Systems:

12V DC dedicated engine gel-cell battery. 90 amp. Alternator on main engine.

8 x 12V DC wet cell batteries (in two lots as house batteries).

Heart Interface Inverter (240 V). Step up/down transformer(110/240 V).

2 x 3A Solar panels. Wind generator. Second Wind/trawl generator. Lewco silicon diode mains charger.

Lots of spare wire, power leads, plugs, adaptors, ship to shore cables etc.  Spare lights, electrical parts, multimeters etc.


Safety Equipment:
ACR Mini B2 EPIRB Beacon 406, plus additional spare EPIRB. Many Flare Packs. Grab bag with extensive equipment.

Mitsubishi 6 pax liferaft (with extra items including third EPIRB) on deck for quick release.

Halon Automatic Fire Extinguisher (engine room). 3 x additional fire extinguishers. Fire pump/shower/deck hose manifold.

Full safety jack-lines and harnesses. Coastal lifejackets. PFDs. Bosuns Chair.

Ground Tackle:

75 lb. CQR main anchor on 100 m 3/8" Chain (re-galvanised October 2004).  Additional 36 lb. Danforth, 100 lb. folding Fisherman anchor and Viking 45 anchor.

Maxwell 2200 horizontal electric windlass (very powerful) with more than substantial teak mounting.

Large quantities of spare chain and rope.



Custom fitted wood interior bonded to hull providing additional strength.

Interior woodwork is of immaculate workmanship by the original owner (taking five years to complete) above and beyond factory standard. Includes holly, American oak, mahogany and teak. Teak and holly cabin sole.  Head linings are made of American oak and are removable with an underlining of aluminium.

All fittings and accessories of solid brass. Bronze portholes and latches to secure open. Large hatches. Removable fly-screens for all openings.

Generally large saloon with lots of cupboard space and large dining table.



Private aft starboard cabin double. Private forward cabin queen V-berth.

Port side quarter-berth. Starboard single settee berth (with additional suspended pilot bunk). Small port side settee berth or double saloon berth if dining table lowered.  Berths with lee cloths.

2x Extra mattresses.  Blankets, sheets etc.


Interior Extras:

Taylor Kerosene cabin heater with kerosene pressure system and tank.

Brass wall oil lamps. Fluorescent lighting and standard lighting. Interior Fans.

In-built Panasonic stereo (VCD, MP3, WMA), with 12 CD shuttle changer and Rockford Fosgate speakers. 12V 9" Sony Trinitron TV with external aerial.



Good size galley. Very large mechanical Adler Barbour fridge and freezer. Plus additional 12V fridge/chiller. Spare refrigeration unit, 2x reciprocal compressors and many spares.

3 burner LPG gimballed Paul Luke S/S stove with oven and broiler. Stainless steel hood and extractor fan over stove. 2 x LPG aluminium bottles - secured in frame on foredeck with remote solenoid. 1 x LPG bottle for use with BBQ (or back-up main). Magma stainless steel BBQ and rail mounting (new 2003) aft of cockpit.

Electric fresh water pump plus manual S/W pump over large sink. Freshwater filter via electric pump.

Full galley equipment (knives, forks etc.). Various miscellaneous pots, pressure cooker, pans, crockery etc. Some additional 240V appliances.


Wilcox - Crittenden “Skipper” Seaclos Head. Flexi holding tank fitted (not in use).

Head and wardrobe area between saloon and forward berth. Towels & accessories.


3 m. RIB (Cholamark) Hypalon (5 pax) new 2001 with cover.

15 Hp. Evinrude (new 2000) outboard. Tender fuel tank and hoses.

Bauer Junior Air Dive Compressor - secured and housed on deck, with original parts and service kits.  5x Dive bottles, SCUBA equipment & spares.

Boarding ladder. Fenders.

Fishin’ Buddy 1200 (portable forward sonar/fish finder).  Fishing equipment, rods, lures, nets etc.

Wet weather clothing.  Sewing machine. Wet and Dry vacuum cleaner.

Reference books, pilots and reading books. HP 3420 Printer.

Gauges for refrigeration system.  Tools, power tools, more tools etc. Paints, epoxies, anti-fouls, spares, spares, spares etc.  More miscellaneous equipment, appliances and spares.

NOTE:- No water-maker. No gen-set. No inside shower (could be hooked up). No hot water currently on tap but all is in place to be easily hooked up. Holding tank for sewerage is in place but has not been used. The current owners have found the lack of these items no problem for their 10 years of cruising.
