Comments:
Little Bear is the perfect boat for anyone contemplating the offshore experience. This boat will provide an ideal base to update and improve to the new owner's specs all the necessary work required to under take such a journey. Little Bear was a kit boat first purchased and fitted out to an exceptionally high standard by a Marine Engineer out of Victoria, Canada and when finished took off for a world circumnavigation. The second owner re-motored her in 1996 and installed the Sitex GPS and the Autohelm and used her mainly around the Canadian Gulf Islands. I am the third owner and I too used her around the Gulf Islands. The only improvements I have made are the addition of a Furlex furling head stay, braced mast rail, stern pulpit with mainsheet hoop and bow pulpit. I have maintained her in good order and she is clean, solid and ready for a refit.
A new fully battened mainsail and yankee headsail are both presently on order. All batteries replaced with new upgraded batteries. The motor is a 45 HP 4 cyl Isuzu diesel with a ultra low 373 hrs. The motor is a highlight of the boat and requires no improvement. The hull has no osmosis.
